Jonathan Lepow was the manager of his father’s dental clinic. He was responsible for accounting for and paying employment taxes to the IRS, according to a March 28 news release from the Justice Department.
Mr. Lepow pleaded guilty to not paying $544,272 in IRS trust fund taxes collected from employee wages, instead using the money to pay vendors and transfer funds into accounts for other entities.
Between 2015 and 2017, the dental clinic had more than 50 total employees.
As part of the plea, Mr. Lepow agreed to pay $495,847. He faces up to five years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000, the release said.
