UT Health San Antonio has received a $6.5M gift to support future pediatric-focused professionals in dentistry, medicine and nursing.
The Harvey E. Najim Pediatric Health Scholars Program will support education and specialty training for 36 pediatric dental residents, according to a March 26 news release from UT Health San Antonio.
Three scholarships will be funded each year, one each in dentistry, medicine and nursing for students engaged in community service.
The program aims to reduce financial barriers, attract and retain pediatric healthcare talent and expand access to pediatric dental and healthcare services.
Nearly two-thirds of dental graduates from UT Health San Antonio remain in Texas after completing their training, the release said.
At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
