A Texas woman has been charged with practicing dentistry without a license, the Laredo Morning Times reported July 21.
Jeannie del Carmen Lara was arrested July 9 after being served with warrants for two counts of violating the Texas Dental Practice Act.
Ms. Lara allegedly practiced as a “mobile dentist” during the COVID-19 pandemic, performing services in patients’ homes.
An investigation was opened against Ms. Lara after a woman complained to the Laredo Police Department alleging that Ms. Lara removed six of her molars without her consent.
Ms. Lara is currently out on bond.
