From practice openings to new laws, here are six updates happening in California’s dental industry, as reported by Becker’s since Oct. 3:
- The city of Hollister, Calif., welcomed its first dental hygiene practice.
- Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health opened San Pedro Smiles Dentistry in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.
- California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill to block private equity groups and hedge funds from interfering with the healthcare decisions of dental and medical professionals.
- Mr. Newsom also signed SB 386 into law, which requires dental plans to provide dentists with clear and easy ways for dentists to opt in and out of virtual credit card payments
- The California Dental Association committed to pushing for dental reform after losing its appeal against Delta Dental of California.
- 4M Dental Implant Centers opened a new practice location in Palm Desert, Calif.
