The school would open the clinic at the Decatur Morgan Hospital Parkway Campus in 2026, pending approval from the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees.

The clinic, which would be supported using state funds, will recruit and train dentists to serve patients living in rural areas in the Northern region of the state, according to an Aug. 2 news release. Services projected to be provided at the clinic include preventive care, basic periodontal therapy, restorative treatments and emergency services for patients of all ages.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
