The University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha is mourning the death of Ernest Sigler, DDS.
Dr. Sigler died Oct. 31 at age 79, according to a Nov. 10 news release.
Dr. Sigler was a U.S. Army veteran and UNMC alumnus who earned his dental degree in 1975. He joined the university’s College of Dentistry faculty in 2006 and continued to teach until May of this year.
He was recognized with several military and teaching awards during his career, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, the Maude Faculty Fellowship, the Outstanding Teacher award and the Judson C. Hickey Scientific Writing Award.
Services will be held in Lincoln, Neb., on Nov. 23 and 24.
