Richmond-based Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry received initial accreditation for a graduate prosthodontics program.

The program is 36 months long and will allow residents to become experts in prosthodontics, according to a March 27 news release from the university.

Two students will be accepted in the program’s first cohort, with the goal of expanding in the future.

Sandra Al-Tarawneh, DDS, is the program’s inaugural director, the release said.
