Examples of Dr. Zunka practicing outside the scope of his license include ordering a blood chemistry panel to test a patient for calcium deficiency and ordering cholesterol testing for a patient.
Dr. Zunka also recommended, dispensed and sold nutritional supplements including multivitamins, Vitamin B, digestive enzymes and fish oil to a patient.
When questioned by a DHP investigator about his “stretching” and “body work” that he performed on patients and staff, Dr. Zunka admitted that, “It doesn’t have anything to do with dentistry.”
The suspension is for a period of no less than two years. In addition to the suspension, Dr. Zunka was assessed a $5,000 penalty.
