Stafford (Va.) Oral Surgery recently experienced a data breach affecting 7,019 individuals.
The practice said it was notified by a vendor on March 19 that a cyber incident occurred in October 2025. Email accounts and vendor files containing limited patient information were accessed during the incident, according to a notice on the practice’s website. The information that may have been accessed in the breach includes identifying information, medical information and health insurance information.
The practice said there is currently no evidence that any of the information affected by the data breach has been misused.
The data breach was submitted to the HHS Department’s Office for Civil Rights breach portal May 15.
Shamis & Gentile, a class action law firm specializing in data breach cases, announced it is investigating the breach June 5.
