The clinic would bring dental students from UDM to Vermont for their final years of training to strengthen the provider pipeline and expand access to dental care in the state, according to a Sept. 20 news release.

Through the partnership, students will have two years of foundational and preclinical education at the UDM School of Dentistry Campus, followed by two years of clinical and didactic education at the new center in Colchester, Vt.

The UDM-Vermont program will start in fall 2025 and offer a DDS dental education program, which was recently accredited by the Commission of Dental Accreditation.

U.S. Sens. Bernie Sanders and Peter Welch are attempting to secure $4.6 million in federal funding for the project, the release said.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
