What benefits are practice owners offering employees?

Dental benefits, paid vacation and paid holidays are the benefits dental practice owners are offering to their employees the most, according to a recent poll by the American Dental Association Health Policy Institute.

The poll was taken as part of the ADA’s monthly “Economic Outlook and Emerging Issues in Dentistry” report for the week of June 12. The Health Policy Institute surveyed 1,013 dental practice owners on which benefits they offer to their employees.

Here are the 11 most-offered benefits:

Dental benefits: 92.6 percent

Paid vacation: 91.5 percent

Paid holidays: 88.8 percent

Retirement savings: 76.4 percent

Continuing education or professional development: 71.9 percent

Paid sick time: 71.8 percent

Health insurance: 44.5 percent

Licensure or certification fees: 34.5 percent

Paid leave: 21.6 percent

Membership in a professional association: 16 percent

Other: 10.6 percent
