When were dentists’ last pay raises?

Thirty-eight percent of dentists never received a pay raise, according to DentalPost’s “2023 Dental Salary Survey” annual report.

DentalPost conducted its survey between July and September 2022 and received participation from 1,216 dentists. The survey addresses topics including compensation, job turnover and work environment. Read more about the methodology here.

Here are the last times dentists received a pay raise, according to DentalPost:

Never: 38 percent

More than 5 years: 9 percent

Three to five years: 10.25 percent

1 to 2 years: 15.75 percent

Within the last year: 27 percent
