The school received approval from the Commission on Dental Accreditation, and the first residents will be able to enroll in July 2024, according to a Sept. 22 news release.

Residents will be prepared to practice pediatric dentistry in both private practice and hospital settings, being instructed on growth and development as it pertains to the oral health of children as well as behavioral management techniques to treat children.

The two-year program will be the first pediatric dental residency program in West Virginia, the release said.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence. Apply for complimentary registration now.
