10 states seeing the most DSO growth

Colorado, Oklahoma and Alabama have seen the largest increases in DSO-affiliated dentists between 2015 and 2024, according to data from the American Dental Association.

The ADA recently released data on the dentist workforce, including demographics, workplaces and retirement trends. The report includes a map showing the percentage point change in the share of dentists affiliated with a DSO between 2015 and 2024 for each state.

Here are 10 states that have experienced the most growth from 2015-2024:

1. Colorado: 19.5% 

2. Oklahoma: 18.1%

3. Alabama: 15.5%

4. South Carolina: 15.4%

5. Georgia: 13.9%

6. Vermont: 13.9%

7. North Carolina: 13.3%

8. New Mexico: 13.2%

9. Kansas: 13.1%

10. Utah: 13%
