Here are 10 updates to know on Heartland Dental, Aspen Dental and PDS Health, the three largest dental organizations in the U.S., as reported by Becker’s during the third quarter of 2025:
Heartland Dental (Effingham, Ill.)
- Heartland Dental added Smile Design Dentistry to its network, which supports 60 offices in Florida.
- The company released its growth stats from the first half of the year, adding more than 50 practices across 14 states.
- A class-action lawsuit was filed against Heartland Dental for its use of AI to analyze patient phone calls.
Aspen Dental (Chicago)
- Aspen Dental partnered with Forward Science, an oral health-focused biotechnology company, to add PerioStōm, a non-drug periodontal therapy to its practices.
- The DSO added practices in a number of states, including Connecticut, North Carolina, and California.
- The Aspen Group recorded $4.2 billion in annualized net revenue for the first half of 2025.
- Aspen Dental agreed to pay $18.7 million to settle allegations that it transmitted web user data to Meta and Google without users’ knowledge or consent.
PDS Health (Henderson, Nev.)
- The company opened 10 de novo practices in September, six in August and four in July.
- PDS Health partnered with the American Dental Hygienists’ Association to increase access to dental care for hygienists.
- PDS Health Technologies, part of PDS Health, completed an agreement to offer SOTA Cloud as part of its integrated health technology services.
