13 updates on the largest DSOs

Several of the largest DSOs in the U.S. have recently added new locations and technology, gained new investments and launched partnerships with other organizations to enhance patient care.

Thirteen updates since April: 

Heartland Dental (Effingham, Ill.)

1. S&P Global Ratings raised its issuer credit rating on Heartland Dental, upgrading the issue-level rating on its senior secured debt to from “B-” to “B.”

2. Heartland Dental broke ground on a new practice in Glen Carbon, Ill.

3. Heartland Dental partnered with DentalXChange to add RCM solutions across its network.

4. Heartland Dental opened a de novo practice in Estero, Fla. 

Affordable Care (Morrisville, N.C.)

1. Affordable Care will reportedly be taken over by direct lenders as part of a restructuring agreement to reduce the DSO’s debt.

MB2 Dental (Dallas)

1. MB2 Dental has expanded its network with five new affiliations in the last two months.

Aspen Dental (Chicago)

1. Aspen Dental opened locations in Texas, Utah and Missouri.

2. Aspen Dental closed offices in Lockport, Ill., and Gloucester, Mass.

PDS Health (Henderson, Nev.)

1. PDS Health and CareQuest Innovation Partners partnered to scale blood pressure screenings during dental visits. The organizations will gather insights on the prevalence of undiagnosed hypertension that is detectable through dental settings.

2. PDS Health joined AARP’s AgeTech Collaborative to enhance healthcare for the aging population, focusing on the link between oral health and overall wellness.

3. The organization opened six new de novo dental practices across California, Missouri, Ohio and Kentucky.

Dental Care Alliance (Sarasota, Fla.)

1. Dental Care Alliance entered into an agreement with its existing lender group to reduce its debt by more than $1.1 billion and receive $95 million in new capital. 

Sonrava Health (Orange, Calif.)

1. Sonrava Health integrated Overjet’s dental AI technology to its more than 450 dental practices.
