Heartland Dental in 2022: 7 updates

Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental supports more than 2,400 doctors in more than 1,600 offices across 38 states.

Here is what the DSO has accomplished in 2022:

  1. Heartland Dental added 424 practices in 2021 and plans to open 107 in 2022. It also anticipates 100 percent growth in practices built from the ground up.
  2. The DSO added 37 practices to its network since the beginning of 2022. 
  3. It acquired LWSS Family Dentistry, which has seven locations in Virginia.
  4. Sarah Jackson was appointed Heartland’s chief human resources officer.
  5. Richard Workman, DMD, founder of Heartland Dental, and his wife, Angela Workman, donated $5 million to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry.
  6. High Point (N.C.) University received a $32 million donation from the Rick and Angie Workman Foundation for the university’s new school of dental medicine.
  7. Heartland Dental partnered with Mission, Kan.-based Concorde Career Colleges to award $40,000 in scholarships to training dental hygienists.
