Atlanta-based DSO Benevis has treated more than 600,000 patients a year since its founding in 2002.
The company released its first annual impact report detailing its accomplishments and services in the last two decades.
Here are eight notes from the report:
1. More than 600,000 children and adults were treated each year during 1.2 million visits.
2. The DSO has treated approximately 5 million patients total.
3. Benevis provided services in 120 communities and 13 states and the District of Columbia.
4. The DSO worked with more than 10,500 dentists, caregivers and teammates to improve dental care in the U.S.
5. Services provided include 1.7 million emergencies, 19 million fillings and sealants, and more than 200,000 orthodontics.
6. Benevis has treated more than 2,500 children through its Sharing Smiles Day initiative, which provides free dental services to kids in need.
7. The DSO has partnered with Head Start programs, schools and community health centers to deliver care to underserved and vulnerable populations.
8. Benevis has supported efforts to increase Medicaid reimbursement rates in several states.
