Two supergroups owning several dental and healthcare companies have emerged in recent years, increasing consolidation and competition in the dental industry.
Chicago-based Aspen Dental Management rebranded as the Aspen Group in December 2021 to reflect its expansion in the healthcare industry. In addition to operating one of the largest dental companies in the U.S., the company added dental implant, urgent care and medical aesthetic companies under its umbrella.
Sonrava Health was announced as the new parent company of Orange, Calif.-based Western Dental in June 2022. The company also oversees an eye care company and an insurance company.
