7 dental industry updates in Tennessee

Here are seven dental industry updates taking place in Tennessee that Becker’s has reported on since July 2:

1. A Tennessee dental practice apologized after a video was posted online allegedly showing staff members reading a patient’s private journal out loud.

2. Minor injuries were reported after a car crash into Providence Dental Care in Mt. Juliet, Tenn., on Aug. 8. 

3. Tennessee launched a statewide oral health program dedicated to providing care for adults aged 65 and older.

4. Cincinnati-based Cordental Group added Goodlettsville, Tenn.-based Smile Solutions to its network.

5. Oak Ridge, Tenn.-based Core Dental Health’s system was hacked, potentially exposing patient information. 

6. Contagious Smiles in Memphis, Tenn., closed its doors in July, and its owner, Larry Anthony, DDS, filed for bankruptcy.

7. Springfield, Tenn.-based Gentle Dental reopened in a new office after a tornado damaged its previous office in December.
