Atlanta-based Benevis recently called on primary care providers to work with dentists on establishing dental care for children.

Benevis said Feb. 6 that establishing a “dental home,” an ongoing relationship between a child or family and a dental provider, is critical to improving oral health and overall wellbeing.

The DSO cited CDC data that shows more than 52% of children experience tooth decay by age 8 and 25% have at least one cavity by the age of 4.

In honor of Children’s Dental Health Month, Benevis said it will be providing patients educational resources on oral hygiene at its practices.

Benevis also created a Dental Home Physician Playbook, which is a guide that provides oral risk assessments and checklists for clinicians and educational resources for patients.

Benevis supports more than 100 offices in the U.S.
