Most recently, Mr. Wechsler served as the executive chairman of Irvine, Calif.-based Smile Brands. As the CEO, Mr. Wechsler helped the DSO grow to more than 4,500 employees, including 700 general and specialty dentistswho support more than 360 offices.
Prior to leading Smile Brands, Mr. Wechsler served as the executive vice president and global president of pharmaceuticals at Bausch + Lomb. He has also spent time at Merck & Co., Schering-Plough, Pfizer and Melinta Therapeutics.
Mr. Wechsler will work alongside John Murphy, MD, who was appointed CEO in November.
