Here are key takeaways about the biggest pain points about dental service organization expansion:

“Single biggest challenge is when offices think they are more profitable than they actually are,” said Jerry Rhodes, CEO of Dental Care Alliance.

“The biggest pain point is recruiting. Everyone is fighting over the same resources and there are limited specialists,” Jody Martin, SmileBrands chief marketing officer, said.

Craig Murray, senior vice president of strategic initiatives at Dental Care Alliance, agreed with Ms. Martin, echoing her that recruiting was the most challenging aspect because providers are limited.

“A pain point is trying to recruit dentists to rural areas, which is why we mostly operate in urban areas,” said James Nick, Dental Care Alliance chief revenue officer.
