PDS Founder and CEO Stephen Thorne said Feb. 7 that the DSO is focused on spreading awareness of the link between oral health and overall well-being.

The DSO pointed to data from the American Heart Association that shows heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. Recent studies also show that people with periodontal disease are more likely to experience a stroke or heart attack.

Among its initiatives for this month, Pacific Dental Services said it will be educating team members about heart health and will be providing team members with interactive CPR demonstrations.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
