Pacific Dental Services Foundation awards $60K in dental assistant scholarships

The Pacific Dental Services Foundation recently awarded more than $60,000 in scholarships to 17 dental assisting students.

The foundation’s Dr. Carolyn Ghazal Dental Assistant Scholarship aims to bring more dental assistants into the field amid a national shortage, according to an Oct. 7 news release shared with Becker’s

Criteria to receive the scholarships, which are rewarded on a quarterly basis, includes financial need, career aspirations and commitment to service.

The PDS Foundation has awarded a total of more than $1.7 million in financial assistance to more than 300 dental students since 2016.
