Chicago-based Aspen Dental is one of the largest DSOs in the U.S., with a network of nearly 2,000 dentists and more than 1,000 dental practices in 45 states.

Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental is one of the largest DSOs in the U.S., with more than 2,400 dentists and 1,600 practices across 38 states in its network. 

Several small DSOs have made moves this year to expand their organizations and reach new milestones.

Carrollton, Texas-based MB2 Dental recently added its first affiliate practice in New Hampshire. 

Overjet will provide artificial intelligence services to Parker, Colo.-based DSO Ssun Health.

Pacific Dental Services is the first DSO to integrate dental and medical data with Epic's electronic health record system.

Irving, Texas-based U.S. Oral Surgery Management recently added its first oral surgery practice in Michigan. 

Irvine, Calif.-based DSO Smile Brands recently opened an Aspire Dental location in Chandler, Ariz.
