Park Dental Partners hit with data breach

Roseville, Minn.-based Park Dental Partners is actively investigating a data breach that may have exposed patient information.

The DSO identified unauthorized access to its computer network Aug. 28, according to an 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission Sept. 1. The company said it promptly activated its incident response protocols and engaged external cybersecurity and forensic specialists. The organization is working to determine the nature and scope of the breach, including whether patient or protected health information was accessed.

The incident has not materially disrupted operations as of the filing date, according to the report. The company said it is not yet able to estimate the financial, legal, operational or reputational impact of the breach.

Park Dental Partners supports more than 220 doctors and 87 offices in three states.
