The first part of the fundraising was a campaign at Smile Generation-trusted practices. The practices offered discounts on dental services in exchange for donations, according to a Nov. 6 news release from Smile Generation.
There was also a “Stroll for Special Needs 5K,” which had more than 1,400 participants from 37 states.
The discount for donation component raised more than $396,000, and the walk generated more than $254,000.
The funds raised will be used to improve and expand access to dental care for patients with special needs as well as train dentists that specialize in the field, the release said.
At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
