The private equity firms behind 8 DSOs

Several DSOs have gained new private equity investments over the last few months to fuel their expansion efforts. 

Here are eight DSOs with new private equity backings:

1. Freeport Financial Partners gave a $77 million senior credit facility to Hackensack, N.J.-based Max Surgical Specialty Management to help the MSO form new partnerships with oral surgery practices in the Northeast.

2. Ivy Asset Group provided a senior debt investment to Dana Point, Calif.-based Silver Creek Dental Partners to support the DSO’s investments in its affiliated practices and continued expansion in California.

3. Troy, Mich.-based Smile Partners USA recapitalized earlier this year following a strategic investment from a new continuation fund managed by Silver Oak Service Partners.

4. Little Rock, Ark.-based Rock Dental Brands secured $90 million from TPG Twin Brook Capital Partners and Audax Private Debt to fuel its expansion efforts.

5. Thurston Group provided a $350 million credit facility to Richmond Hill, Ga.-based SGA Dental Partners.

6. Thurston Group announced in May 2024 that Tempe, Ariz.-based Gen4 Dental Partners closed on a $315 million credit facility led by Man Varagon.

7. Miami-based Guardian Dentistry Partners received a growth capital investment from Morgan Stanley Private Credit and Prudential Private Capital.8. TPG Twin Brook Capital provided a $20 million upsizing of Endodontic Practice Partners’ existing senior debt facility.
