Penn Dental names Dr. Sean Meehan assistant dean, chief dental officer 

Philadelphia-based Penn Dental Medicine named Sean Meehan, DMD, assistant dean and chief dental officer.

Dr. Meehan most recently served in the U.S. Naval Dental Corps, retiring earlier this year after 29 years of service, according to an Aug. 15 news release from the University of Pennsylvania. 

Dr. Meehan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1992 and has regularly returned to the school to support dental students pursuing military careers. 

His appointment took effect Aug. 1, the release said.
