U of Rochester names new dean of medical, dental school

University of Rochester (N.Y.) has appointed David Linehan, MD, as dean of the School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Dr. Linehan has been with the university since 2014, first serving as chair of the department of surgery at University Rochester Medical Center, according to a Dec. 19 news release. 

He will also take over as CEO of University Rochester Medical Center and senior vice president for health sciences. 

Dr. Linehan will succeed Mark Taubman, MD, who has served as CEO of the center and dean of the medical and dental school since 2015.

The appointment is effective Feb. 1, 2024, the release said.
