American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry appoints CEO

American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry has named Jessica Lee, DDS, PhD, its next CEO, effective June 1.

Dr. Lee has nearly 30 years of leadership experience within the AAPD, including serving as president from 2020 until 2021, according to a Jan. 20 news release. She is currently the William M. Demeritt distinguished professor of pediatric dentistry and senior associate dean for faculty affairs and leadership development at the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry.

Dr. Lee has earned several awards during her career, including the U.S. Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the AAPD Merle C. Hunter Leadership Award and the AAPD Pediatric Dentist of the Year Award.
