Dental research association names 52nd president

The American Association for Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Research appointed Alexandre Vieira, DDS, PhD, as president for 2023-24.

Dr. Vieira is a professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in the department of oral and craniofacial sciences. He will become the organization’s 52nd president, according to a news release from the university. 

The association is a 3,000-member organization that drives dental, oral and craniofacial research to advance dental health and well-being. 

Dr. Vieira will succeed Jane Weintraub, DDS, in the role, according to the association’s website.
