Nisha D’Silva, BDS, PhD, recently stepped into the role of president for the American Association for Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Research.
Dr. D’Silva is currently the Donald A. Kerr Endowed Collegiate Professor of Oral Pathology at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor. She is also a professor at the University of Michigan Medical School and a Rogel Scholar at the University of Michigan Health Rogel Cancer Center, according to a news release from the school.
Dr. D’Silva’s research focuses on biomarkers and molecular mechanisms of tumor progression and treatment resistance in head and neck cancers. She has published more than 100 research papers throughout her career, including in the Journal of Dental Research and the Journal of Experimental Medicine.
