Marquette University School of Dentistry appoints dean

Milwaukee-based Marquette University School of Dentistry appointed Elsbeth Kalenderian, DDS, PhD, its new dean.

Dr. Kalenderian is a professor in the oral and maxillofacial surgery department at the Amsterdam University Medical Center. She previously served as dean of faculty at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam and was a professor and chair of preventive and restorative dental sciences at the University of California, San Francisco. She also previously served as clinic dean and chair at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston.

She will succeed William Lobb, DDS, who announced his retirement in January. She will begin her new role Aug. 14.
