Great Neck, N.Y.-based The Smilist has named Axel Lapica as its next CEO.
Mr. Lapica has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry. He most recently served as senior vice president of DaVita, an operator of dialysis centers, according to a May 15 news release from The Smilist.
Over the past year, the DSO has added more than 50 practice locations and expanded into multiple new states.
The Smilist is backed by Zenyth Partners, and supports more than 100 practices across seven states, the release said.
