Here are seven dentists making headlines for the week of April 2, 2015

Spurgeon Webber III, DDS, said he will work through a Chapter 11 bankruptcy and continue to practice from two offices in Charlotte, N.C.

Gagan Sandhu, DDS, of California Shine Dental in San Jose, uses implants made from titanium posts that fuse to the patient's jawbone, and can provide the implants to patients in a 60 minute visit.

Andres Alvarez, a dental student, was named the 2015 Dr. Ray Bowen Student Research Award from the American Dental Association Foundation and the Academy of Operative Dentistry late last month, and will begin to work towards developing a dental adhesive that will prevent cavities from forming between teeth and cavity fillings.

David Finley, DDS, owner of Bayou Dental Group, was selected as one of America's Top Dentists by the Consumer Research Council of America for 2015.

Brian Shuman, DMD, launched a new 13-week curriculum, NECSDA, to train and produce qualified dental assistants, reports SeaCoastOnline.com.

Ann Haggard, DDS, and Marcus Haggard, DDS, have introduced the T-Scan in an effort to improve the accuracy of dental occlusion evaluations.
