Ten years ago, anesthesia administered prior to a root canal left a man with signs of anterograde amnesia, according to Tech Time.
Here are five things to know:
1. The man reportedly has no memory of what occurred after receiving the root canal, and does not know his children's ages.
2. His memory lasts only 90 minutes.
3. The cause of his injury is uncertain due to imaging scans not showing damages in the usually places they should be in cases of memory loss.
4. The man was initially diagnosed with dissociative amnesia.
5. Researchers are studying the man's case and have published their work in Neurocase.
