1. Tony Agapis, DDS, and John Agapis, DDS, provided free dental care to the underserved members of their community at their clinic in Chester, Va. The father-son dental office provides care as part of an initiative to expand their services to those who cannot afford dental care in their community.
2. Amanda Meade, DDS, joined Community Dental Clinic in Martinsville, Va. The clinic is presently in its ninth year and is operated by the Piedmont Virginia Dental Health Foundation, according to GoDanriver.com.
3. Steven Katz, DDS, Tom Coreno, DDS and a team of volunteer dentists examined the mouths of football players from three Cleveland public high schools to improve mouth safety on the field, according to CleveScene.
4. Alex Van Acker, DDS, and John Kearney, DDS, are co-chairs of a new free dental clinic in Canon City, Colo. The clinic will provide free services to patients and will have 200 volunteer dentists and almost 1,000 community volunteers, according to The Pueblo Chieftain.
5. Gina Salatino, DMD, FAGD, received the Academy of General Dentistry's Fellowship Award during the AGD 15th annual meeting.
6. Maryam Ranjbar, DMD, was selected to the "America's Best Dentists" registry for 2015. Dr. Ranjbar presently practices at Family, Cosmetic, Implant, & Sedation Dentist in New York City.
