Two dental residents join UAMS — 7 notes

 

The University of Arkansas for Medical Center welcomed the first two resident dentists, according THV11.

Here are seven notes:

1. The residents will administer dental care as part of a yearlong postgraduate dental residency program.

2. The program will expand to six dentists each year after the first year.

3. Ashley McMillian, DDS, and Michael Dienberg, DDS, will join UAMS for the residency program hosted by the Center for Dental Education in the UAMS College of Health Professions.

4. The residents will undergo 12 months of advanced education from the faculty dentists.

5. The program was accredited earlier this year by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.

6. The resident patients will also see patients at the Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation Oral Health Clinic on the UAMS campus.

7. The dental residents will complete two-week rotations in medical programs including emergency medicine, anesthesiology, internal medicine and otolaryngology in addition to a four-week rotation at Arkansas Children's Hospital.
