4 dental Medicaid updates in 2 weeks

Here are four updates on Medicaid in the dental space that Becker’s has reported on since Aug. 6:

1. The American Dental Association and the Association of Dental Support Organizations released a report pushing Congress to create policies that make it easier for Medicaid patients to receive oral health services and dentists to enroll in Medicaid.

2. Nearly 190 organizations signed a letter urging legislators to pass the Stabilize Medicaid and CHIP Coverage Act. 

3. A recent audit by the Louisiana Department of Health revealed that one of the dental providers that the state contracts with fell short of expectations.

4. About 24.8 million people have been disenrolled from Medicaid as of Aug. 1.
