4 dental insurance legislation updates

Here are four legislation updates concerning the dental insurance industry that Becker’s has reported on since Aug. 4:

1. A healthcare coalition filed a ballot measure for the November 2024 election that would permanently expand funding for California’s Medi-Cal program.

2. Two senators introduced legislation that would provide more affordable dental care options in states that do not have a state-run health insurance marketplace. 

3. Nebraska legislators are working to raise Medicaid reimbursement rates for dentists again after a slight raise this year.

4. California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a law to provide more clarity to dentists on what type of dental benefit plan they are dealing with.
