A coalition of dentists are urging the Alabama Legislature to pass matching bills establishing a dental loss ratio in the state, according to a Jan. 28 report from WFSA 12 News.
Two bills, HB 212 and SB 81, would require at least 75% of individual plan premiums and 83% of group plan premiums to be used on patient care, rather than administrative costs.
More than 50 dentists and students gathered outside of the Alabama State Capitol to advocate for the legislation.
The two bills have been referred to their respective chambers’ insurance committee and are awaiting further action, the report said.
At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
