Humana expands dental benefits under Medicare Advantage plans

Health insurance company Humana is expanding dental benefits for many Medicare Advantage enrollees in 2023.

George Renaudin, Medicare president for Humana, said in a news release shared with Becker’s that the insurer expanded the benefits aftering hearing from members, adding that dental care was the top benefit requested by older adults.

Included in the enhanced benefits are embedded dental benefits that cover some major services, a dental allowance that allows members to use up to the annual maximum of the allowance with no frequency limitations on services and a flexible allowance on the company’s spending account card.

Humana serves nearly 5.1 million Medicare Advantage members in the U.S.
