Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Lloyd Doggett introduced bicameral legislation to expand access to dental, hearing and vision care under Medicare.

More than 26 million Medicare beneficiaries have no dental coverage, according to a March 11 news release. The Medicare Dental, Hearing, and Vision Expansion Act would expand Medicare to cover dentures in addition to cleanings, X-rays, fillings and other procedures.

The legislation is co-sponsored by more than 100 legislators, and is endorsed by several organizations, including the Center for Medicare Advocacy, the Center for Health and Democracy and the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place November 12–14 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
