There are more than 6,000 orthodontists in the U.S., according to new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The agency updated its employment data May 15 to reflect 2025 information.
Three statistics on the orthodontist workforce to know:
1. There are 6,210 orthodontists employed in the U.S.
2. Texas, Florida and Washington have the highest employment of orthodontists.
3. The regions with the highest employment of orthodontists are Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, Wash.; Phoenix-Mesa-Chandler, Ariz.; and Northwestern Ohio.
