How states stack up based on job resignation rates, general dentist supply

New York has the lowest job resignation rate in the country, according to a survey from WalletHub.

The WalletHub survey, published March 17, examined the rate at which people quit their jobs in both the latest month and the last 12 months from the time of the survey. It ranked the states and Washington, D.C., by giving the resignation rate of the last 12 months full weight (33.33 points) and the resignation rate of the latest month double weight (66.67 points).

Becker's compared the study's findings with the amount of active general dentists in each state. This data comes from the Kaiser Family Foundation. It was pulled in January 2022 from Redi-Data.

In the next two years, 11 percent of dentists plan to retire. As the industry continues to battle staffing and recruitment issues, losing more dentists could pose an issue.
