10 states where dentists may find more workers

North Carolina has the highest ranked workforce, according to CNBC's top states for business rankings, published July 17. 

The rankings were calculated based on each state's concentration of STEM workers; percentage of workers with a college degree, associate degrees and industry-recognized certificates; net migration of educated workers; worker training programs; right-to-work laws; and worker productivity. Here are the top 10 states where dental practices may find a higher number of quality workers, with its score out of 400 points:

1. North Carolina: 291 

2. Texas: 278 

3. Arizona: 276 

4. Delaware: 275 

5. Washington: 273 

6. Utah: 264 

7. Virginia: 252 

8. Georgia: 250 

9. (tie) Colorado: 245 

10. (tie) Tennessee: 245
