North Carolina school to launch dental assistant program

Wake Forest-based NC Dental U is launching a dental assistant program at its location in Wilson, N.C., according to a Sept. 1 report from The Wilson Times.

The 13-week program runs from Sept. 23 through Dec. 16, with in-person meetings and clinicals for four and a half hours each Saturday and Sunday. 

Topics that are covered include radiology, tools, mixing and taking dental impressions, setting up rubber dams and setting up X-rays. 

The cost of the program is $3,695, which includes tuition, textbooks, scrubs and equipment. 

The program is licensed through the North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges but is not not accredited, the report said.
