More than half of associate dentists are considering applying for a new job before 2025, according to Dentalpost's 2024 Dental Salary Survey.
Dentalpost surveyed nearly 3,500 dental professionals to create this year's report. The survey was conducted from July to September 2023.
Here are five facts to know about associate dentist turnover:
1. Twenty-eight percent of associate dentists who responded to the survey said they changed employers in the last 12 months.
2. The top three reasons behind changing jobs were career advancement, better work environment and higher pay.
3. A hundred percent of respondents said they achieved at least some of their goals by switching jobs.
4. When asked if they were applying for new jobs or considering doing so before 2025, 57.1% responded "yes" (19.6%) or "maybe" (37.5%).
5. Among respondents who planned to apply to new jobs before 2025, the top reasons for switching were seeking higher pay, a more appreciative employer and a better work environment.
